Whut? Why is Extra not unlocked!?
I have finally beaten Touhou 09! With this, it means I have cleared all main Touhou games (non point like 7.5, 9.5, etc etc) with at least one character and without using any continues!
But why did it take this long to clear Touhou 09? I wanted to go in order and clear the games while working my way up to the lastest game…but after giving it three or four tries, I decided to leave it for some other time. I didn’t really like the game, mainly because of the control…or how shot is managed. Because of Touhou 06-08 I got used to holding the shoot button, with Touhou 09 though, if I keep holding it, it charges up a spell attack to unleash unto my opponent. I couldn’t get used to this…more like I didn’t want to get used to it…and I was forced to press the shoot button constantly. Which in turn made my thumb so sore that by the time I got to the last stage (fairy easy game IMO), I made simple dumb mistakes because I couldn’t concentrate. -_-
And there’s also the fact that the computer is a cheating bastard!! Seriously, how the hell can it dodge before a hair’s breath of getting hit!? I swear I saw Shikeiki go through a swarm of bullets with out a scratch!
So I skipped it and tried out the other games.
Just today though, I decided to get it over with once and for all. The problem of sore thumb was still there, so I took it easy and shot carefully. Which in turn turned out to be a nice strategy, I stacked up some combo chains I didn’t know I could do! Which in turn cleared some bullets and sent them off to the opponent! And the opponent gets its revenge by knowing WHEN Lily is going to show up so they use a spell card on me. Bastards.
So after three or so hours (in a span of three days), I finally cleared it without continuing! Felt a bit anti-climatic considering I put it off all this time. I just had to take it easy and ease up on the shoot button. lol (Though there were times I couldn’t help but smash that sucker like there was no tomorrow.)
So now that I beaten all the games with at least one character and without using continues, I guess I’ll try 7.5, 10.5, 12.3, 12.8 and do the same with them. Not a fan of the fighting games though…but maybe that will change the more I play them.
